Discipline. Drive. A desire to protect what matters most.
These are some of the values that draw people to military service.
But they don’t disappear when the first watch ends.
Here at ZeroEyes, our team of former service members steps back into duty—with a mission to protect the lives of everyday people.
We call it the “Second Watch.”
For the ZeroEyes team, this is not just a job: it’s a new mission for individuals who have already proven their commitment to protecting others. They bring the same purpose, urgency, and vigilance to their roles.
This is their story—and how our “Second Watch” helps keep your community safe.
A New Mission After Military Life
Transitioning to civilian life can leave veterans at a crossroads: What now?
The end of a military job isn’t just a career pivot. It’s a disruption of meaning.
As the clarity of past missions fades, it can be replaced by a deep uncertainty about the future.
For many veterans, ZeroEyes provides a renewed sense of purpose.
While it differs from active military service in form, it’s like-minded in intent: Protect People. Stay Vigilant. Save Lives.
It’s been life-changing for our team members.
As one veteran on the team describes his experience, “[ZeroEyes is] a perfect fit for me. It gets me up and out of bed every single day—serving a purposeful mission.”
This is the core of the Second Watch: A valuable new mission to fill the space that military service once occupied.
Why do we do it?
What Drives Our Mission
ZeroEyes emerged in 2018 when a team of Navy SEALs and elite technologists refused to stand by.
The horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School wasn’t just a headline for them—it was a call to action.
They asked: What can we do to help prevent this from happening again?
The answer was ZeroEyes, a company built on cutting-edge threat detection and a commitment to providing veterans with a continued avenue for meaningful service.
These objectives have shaped the company’s culture in every area, from product development to hiring practices.
Veterans now work in all departments across the company—from engineering to customer success to leadership—but the Zero Eyes Operations Center is where their presence is most concentrated and most directly felt.
Let’s take a closer look.
Our Most Critical Asset: The ZeroEyes Operations Center
In the ZeroEyes Operations Center (ZOC), technology works in tandem with our team to deliver rapid, human-verified intelligence.
The ZOC is staffed 24/7/365 by highly trained analysts, many of whom have military or law enforcement backgrounds.
Years of high-stakes service have given them rare strategic expertise: The ability to remain calm under pressure, rapidly assess evolving threats, and act decisively with limited information.
It’s this training that gives our system its all-important edge.
Once our AI detects a visible firearm, our team rapidly verifies each alert before dispatching actionable intelligence. This human touch avoids false alarms and helps ensure the most efficient response possible when every second counts.
As one veteran notes, “The AI is incredible. But our people are the service.”
What Makes Our Team Different
ZOC team members come from the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force.
As a result of their diverse backgrounds, they bring a potent blend of specialties to the table: The insightful analysis of intelligence, the nimbleness of special forces, and the razor-sharp precision of tactical coordination.
The result of this combined expertise? Our team knows how to laser focus when chaos abounds.
When those skills are put to use in real-world threats, the value becomes clear.
Whether they’re monitoring hundreds of live feeds or verifying an alert in the middle of the night, our team knows what’s at stake. And how they react can help make the difference between confusion and clarity in a crisis.
Real Impact, Real Time
The ZOC is always online. Our system doesn’t outsource alert verification or rely purely on automation.
This means real, highly-trained people are watching every alert. Every hour of every day.
Our veterans don’t leave life-altering decisions up to algorithms.
When an alert comes in, they analyze the feed, assess the situation, and confirm the threat. Only then is the alert passed on as actionable intelligence.
This layer of human verification helps reduce unnecessary panic by giving first responders the most accurate information possible—including where the shooter is, what they’re wearing, and what type of weapon system is present.
As a result, they know where to go and what they’re walking into.
That level of detail—delivered in as little as 3–5 seconds—can change outcomes.
A Purpose to Protect
What’s the driving force behind the ZOC’s dedication?
Talk to any team member, and the same theme emerges: a profound sense of connection and purpose.
One team member emphasizes the camaraderie: “It truly feels like a family, a team united by a challenging, vital mission.”
This sense of unity isn’t just happenstance. It’s the result of intentionally cultivating an environment where veterans thrive—defined by clear structure, unwavering responsibility, and deep trust.
“It’s like being in a unit again,” another team member reflects, “everyone with their specific role, their expertise, and immense trust in each other.”
That trust translates into fast, reliable action when it matters most.
Second Watch, First in Vigilance
At ZeroEyes, “Second Watch” isn’t a marketing term.
It’s a way of life for the veterans who chose to serve again—not in active military duty, but in everyday life.
They believe that schools, businesses, and public spaces shouldn’t be battlegrounds…
They believe that no child, teacher, or employee should have to wonder what would happen if a threat entered their space.
They believe that technology can help reduce the risk of gun-related violence, but only when combined with trusted human oversight.
Our team embodies the same courage required for military service, applied in a new setting. And it’s reflected in their mindset.
As one team member sums it up, “What we’re doing matters, and this company is going to do great things. I’m glad to be a part of it.”
So are we.
