Keeping Your Commercial Property Safe

The best defense is a strong offense. From 2000 to 2013, nearly half of all mass shootings took place in commercial settings. If those commercial settings had had a thorough security strategy in place, including sufficient security resource officers (SRO), staff and tenants trained in safety protocols, evacuation plans, and appropriate technology and physical barriers to target-harden the premises and deter potential threats, there is reason to believe that the shootings may not have taken place.

Research indicates that shooters plan their shooting sprees for weeks or even months before they attack. They look for vulnerable targets – those with insufficient security cameras, unsecured entry points, lots of hiding places, vulnerable people, and basically no one to stop them. Eliminate those weaknesses in your commercial property and you’ve dramatically decreased your likelihood of being targeted.

Active shooters need to know they won’t get away with a shooting. That’s why it’s important to have visible security cameras equipped with a gun detection system, with clearly placed signs announcing this to any would-be attackers. Unless there is a strong motivation for a shooter to choose your location, for instance, as an act of revenge, the would-be assailant will most likely be deterred.

But you need to be prepared anyway. With ZeroEyes gun detection, as soon as our system detects a visible gun, your administrators, on-site SROs, and local first responders will receive immediate alerts. This allows you to instantly put into practice the other aspects of your security strategy: locking down entrances to stores or offices and moving your people to secure, safe locations.

As a potential shooter walks through your office building, strip mall, stadium, or other public location and is picked up by your security cameras, law enforcement and administrators receive constant updates of the perpetrator’s movements, so you and the police are always one step ahead of him.

In addition to our state-of-the-art gun detection software enhanced with artificial intelligence, ZeroEyes clients have the support of our staff of former U.S. military with enhanced weapons knowledge and training in combat situations, who work with law enforcement during an active shooter scenario to neutralize the threat within minutes.

If you have not yet done a security vulnerability assessment to determine where your weaknesses lie, don’t wait. You must institute the appropriate protocols, target-harden your physical location, provide the appropriate amount of on-site SROs and security cameras, and enhance your cameras with ZeroEyes gun detection. ZeroEyes is your “force multiplier.” It multiplies your security personnel by deterring shooters by its very presence, but also by ensuring the fastest possible response time from first responders and SROs in the event of a shooting, along with the knowledge and expertise of our best-of-the-best American military working with you to keep your location secure.
