WHO WE ARE

ZeroEyes was officially founded back in 2018. The initial team recognized the major issue of mass shootings and wanted to develop a solution that could keep people safe, particularly our children. The ZeroEyes team consists of US military veterans, consultants, and elite technologists who are passionate about protecting our country. Some of us have lived through active shooter situations and are now dedicating our lives to make sure you don’t. We take protecting people seriously. WHAT WE DO
  • We use Artificial Intelligence to actively monitor camera feeds to detect weapons. Our technology can decrease response times, which could save lives.
  • ZeroEyes detects an approaching threat through existing security cameras.
  • ZeroEyes’ analytic platform, DeepZero, runs over two parts: pre-processing and inferencing. Pre-processing uses motion detection to capture 10 frames, or 10 opportunities per second to find a gun. Inferencing determines if a gun is present. Every keyframe image goes through the ZeroEyes dataset.
  • Next, the alert of a weapon goes to the monitoring team or onsite security team.
  • If a true weapon is detected, an alert is sent to a local emergency dispatch (such as a 911 call center), onsite security staff, police and school administrators. This process takes three to five seconds and bypasses the traditional dispatch process.
  • The software integrates with existing satellite mapping of buildings. As a shooter passes a camera, the map will light up. This allows first responders to know the precise location of a threat. The mapping system can prevent a shooter from entering a building by locking the doors.

To this end, we sought something that would make use of our experience in the line of fire. Therefore ZeroEyes was born to protect others from ever having to face the same kinds of circumstances. Above all, Zero Eyes has given us a direction for that inner purpose. In a civilian environment, it is critical to be proactive in assessing threatening situations and finding ways to neutralize them before they become dangerous. Therefore, our platform leverages existing camera technology with AI, giving authorities real-time information about potential violence and stop it; before it happens.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

GETTING STARTED
By now, you should have your ZeroEyes DEMO environment up and running. You are ready to start getting detections through the security cameras in your DEMO environment.
To access the front-end website where decetions can be viewed and dispatched, navigate to https://COMPANY.zeroeyes.com and log in with your provided credentials. Once your cameras are added you can navigate to the Alerts page via the sidebar and trigger off alerts by walking into frame of an active camera with a firearm in hand.
We will expand further in a detailed walk-through below. After reading this document you should be able to: Connect to your server, add cameras and users, and trigger alerts for yourself or any of your clients.

STEP 1 LOGGING IN

Connect to your normal office network, open up your web browser and navigate to https://herring.zeroeyes.com. Enter the username and password provided to you by Zeroeyes.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”13440″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”13437″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]

STEP 2 ADDING CAMERAS

Once you’re logged in, navigate to the Cameras tab in the sidebar. Then fill out the following fields:
  • Name – Gives a camera a name, it might be useful to name the camera something that represents its location. Although Zeroeyes records the GPS location of the camera, it can be useful to include a pseudo location for the camera. (i.e. CAM-22 1st Floor Lobby or CAM-5 2nd Floor Hall North)
  • URL – This is where you will enter the specific camera’s RTSP URI. This is how your cameras can send their feed to our AI. The way this is structured is different for each camera manufacturer. Thankfully we have a handy syntax list for major manufacturers right [here]!
  • IP Address – This section is for your own reference and record keeping. This is an optional field, but we recommend adding the camera’s IP address for continuity.
  • Latitude & Longitude – Follow [this guide] for finding the GPS coordinates of your cameras. This is the setting that allows you to track a threat through a building or property. Having accurate GPS coordinates of your cameras allows you to see which camera in a building triggered an alert and exactly where it was.
  • Active, Profile, User, and Engine – These are settings set by Zeroeyes and remain static in your demo environment. There’s no need to change any of these settings. Active and User just let you know if the camera is actively detecting and assigned to a particular user. Profile and Engine determine the version of our AI that is running on that machine and the platform version respectively.

STEP 3 TRIGGERING ALERTS

Now that you have added some cameras to your platform. You can try to trigger some alerts! Triggering alerts is incredibly easy, just walk in front of an active camera with an airsoft gun or gun prop and the platform will notify you that it has detected a potential threat.   Navigate to the Alerts page by selecting the Alerts tab on the left. When an alert is triggered, the webpage will send out an alarm and highlight the weapon with a green box. The user then has the option to Dispatch the alert, mark it as a False Positive, or dismiss all alerts in the queue with the Clear Alerts button.
  • Dispatch – This button will escalate a detection from a passive monitoring state to the dispatch page. In a real-world scenario, this would give local 911 or local security an alert with an image of the threat along with the location of the threat on a map of their office or campus.
  • False Positive – This button marks a detection as a false positive. Sometimes the AI might mistake a piece of industrial equipment or handheld device for a firearm. The False Positive button allows the user to remove this alert and save the image to retrain the AI to ignore it in the future.
  • Clear Alerts – The Clear Alerts button does just that. This can be used to clean up the database when a demonstration is complete.

STEP 4 DISPATCHING ALERTS

  Now That you have triggered your first round of alerts, you can dispatch them to showcase what first responders would see in a real-world scenario. Click the Dispatch button and confirm by pressing the OK button from the fail-safe pop-up at the top of your screen.
