Leveraging SB166 Section 31aa funding to upgrade school security
Michigan’s SB166, Section 31aa appropriated $321 million for public and private schools to enhance safety and security infrastructure like ZeroEyes – The first capability of it’s kind to receive the Department of Homeland Security SAFTEY Act Designation and trusted by over 40 Michigan K12 districts and the State Capital.
FY26 Student Mental Health & Safety Funding (Section 31aa)
Funding is available to intermediate school districts and local education agencies — including traditional public school districts, public school academies, nonpublic schools, and the Michigan School for the Deaf — to improve student mental health and safety through Section 31aa (MCL 388.1631aa) of Public Act 15 of 2025.
To receive per-pupil funding under 31aa subsection 2, eligible recipients can opt in and agree to the legislative requirements through the Grant Electronic Monitoring System / Michigan Administrative Review System (GEMS/MARS) via MiLogin.
